Expel Corpus

Faction-specific pistol damage mod

Released Jul 13, 2013

Expel Corpus increases a pistol’s damage against Corpus enemies. Consider it when you expect to fight Corpus and can spare a standard mod slot for a faction-specific bonus.

Understand Expel Corpus

Useful when…

  • Preparing a pistol for a Corpus-focused mission.
  • Using a Madurai-polarity pistol build with room for a conditional damage mod.

Effect and fit

At rank 0, the mod gives x1.05 damage to Corpus; at rank 3, x1.2; and at its maximum rank of 5, x1.3. It is a standard pistol mod with Madurai polarity and base drain 4. It cannot be equipped alongside Flawed Expel Corpus or Primed Expel Corpus.

When to use it

Its benefit is specific to Corpus enemies, so it makes sense when the mission’s target faction is known and the pistol is part of your damage plan. It does not provide the listed bonus against other factions. Accelerated Isotope is a different option: it lists Radiation damage and fire rate rather than faction damage, so the choice depends on whether you want a Corpus-specific bonus or those weapon stats.

Rank investment

The mod can be fused from rank 0 to 5. The listed example costs rise from 20 Endo and 966 Credits for rank 0 to 1, to 80 Endo and 3,864 Credits for rank 2 to 3, and 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits for rank 4 to 5. Rank it according to how often you use it and how much capacity you can allocate; the displayed damage bonus is the mod’s effect, not a calculation of your pistol’s final damage.

Variants and acquisition

Flawed Expel Corpus has a lower listed bonus of x1.1, a maximum rank of 3, and base drain 2. Primed Expel Corpus lists x1.55, maximum rank 10, and base drain 4. These are alternatives rather than compatible additions. Listed sources for the standard mod include Demolisher units and specified Duviri Endless tiers; the drop entries are source-specific.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The bonus applies only against Corpus, so its value depends on the enemy faction.
  • Ranking it further uses increasing Endo and Credits; high ranks cost more.
  • The standard, Flawed, and Primed variants cannot be equipped together.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Equipping it for a mission where the faction-specific bonus is not relevant.
  • Treating x1.3 as the pistol’s final damage multiplier in every situation.
  • Trying to equip it alongside its Flawed or Primed variant.
