Understand Fear Sense
Useful when…
- Choose it when you want a Kavat’s attacks to hit harder during the listed 25-second effect.
- Consider it for the stagger and 30% knockdown chance as additional control accompanying the Kavat’s attacks.
Effect and ranks
Fear Sense senses enemy weaknesses within 25 m. For 25 seconds, the Kavat’s attacks gain +50% damage at rank 0, +150% at rank 2, and +200% at rank 3. Those attacks also stagger and have a 30% chance of knockdown. The listed control chance does not change with the shown ranks.
Fit and rank costs
This is a standard Kavat mod with Penjaga polarity, base drain 2, and maximum rank 3. The listed rank steps cost 20, 40, and 80 Endo plus 966, 1,932, and 3,864 Credits. The damage bonus grows across the listed ranks, so prioritize rank investment when the Kavat’s attack boost is a central part of your setup.
Other Kavat effects
Territorial Aggression creates a 6 m territory for 15 seconds and gives enemies within it a 30% chance each second of being attacked by a shadow Kavat. Pounce describes a direct pounce that deals 90% damage and briefly stuns. Tek Assault instead gives the Kavat a 60% chance to ignore lethal damage and become immune for 4 seconds. These options address territory attacks, a single pounce, or Kavat survival rather than Fear Sense’s timed attack bonus.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its damage bonus applies to Kavat attacks for 25 seconds, not to the player’s weapon.
- The knockdown chance is 30%; it is not guaranteed for each attack.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying Fear Sense’s damage bonus to the player’s weapons instead of Kavat attacks.
- Treating the 30% knockdown chance as a guaranteed knockdown.
