Understand Feathered Arrows
Useful when…
- Use when you value faster projectile travel enough to trade away some bow damage.
- Consider other bow mods when ammo pickup, secondary fire rate after a hit, or airborne fire rate is the goal; those effects have different conditions.
Effect and rank scaling
At rank 0, Feathered Arrows grants +15% Projectile Speed and reduces Damage by 5%. At rank 2, those values are +45% and -15%; at rank 3, +60% and -20%. The damage penalty is part of the mod's tradeoff, so the listed speed bonus should not be read as a damage increase.
Fit and investment
It is a Madurai-polarity standard mod compatible with bows, has a base drain of 6, and can be fused to rank 3. Fusion steps shown cost 20, 40, then 80 Endo, with credits of 966, 1,932, then 3,864. Rank it further when the added projectile speed is worth both the corresponding damage reduction and fusion cost; a lower rank keeps both effects smaller.
Alternatives and exclusion
Arrow Mutation is a standard bow Exilus mod that converts Secondary ammo pickups to 50% of Ammo Pick Up, so it addresses ammo rather than projectile speed. Plan B grants secondary weapon fire rate for 3 seconds on hit, while Soaring Strike grants fire rate when airborne; neither duplicates Feathered Arrows' effect. Feathered Arrows is explicitly incompatible with Lucky Shot.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Faster projectile speed comes with a proportional listed damage penalty as the mod ranks up.
- Higher ranks increase both the speed bonus and the damage reduction, and require additional Endo and credits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the projectile-speed bonus as free when the mod also reduces bow damage.
- Assuming ammo pickup, on-hit secondary fire rate, or airborne fire rate are interchangeable with projectile speed.
- Trying to equip it together with Lucky Shot, which is explicitly incompatible.
