Effects and slot
Frostbite is a Standard pistol mod for a standard mod slot. At rank 3 it grants +60% Cold and +60% Status Chance. It has Madurai polarity and base drain 4. Those are mod bonuses, not a final weapon damage or status calculation.
Rank choices
It reaches rank 3: rank 0 lists +15% Cold and +15% Status Chance; rank 2 lists +45% to both; rank 3 lists +60% to both. The example rank steps cost 30/1,449, 60/2,898, and 120/5,796 Endo/Credits. Since both effects rise together, stop at a rank that provides useful bonuses without spending more fusion resources than the setup warrants.
Other status choices and source
Carnis Stinger pairs Slash with Status Chance. Embedded Catalyzer grants Status Chance only while aiming after an ability cast, so its effect has explicit timing and aiming conditions. Galvanized Shot grants Status Chance and a kill-triggered damage bonus tied to target status types. None reproduces Frostbite's direct Cold bonus. Listed Frostbite sources are specified Spy mission rotations on Kuva Fortress, Eris, Neptune, Pluto, Sedna, and Uranus.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Cold and Status Chance increase together, so the mod does not offer a rank choice between those effects.
