Understand Flawed Heavy Trauma
Useful when…
- Add Impact damage to a compatible melee weapon.
- Use its lower base drain when fitting a mod into a constrained build.
Effect and application
Flawed Heavy Trauma adds Impact damage to a melee weapon. It provides +15% at rank 0, +45% at rank 2, and +60% at rank 3. The bonus is to Impact, not a stated increase to every damage type or a final damage value for a particular weapon.
Slot, polarity, and investment
The flawed mod fits a standard melee slot, has Naramon polarity and base drain 2, and reaches rank 3. Its rank 2-to-3 step costs 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits for the increase from +45% to +60% Impact. It cannot be equipped with Heavy Trauma or Primed Heavy Trauma, so rank it according to the value of its Impact bonus in the build rather than expecting to stack the versions.
Compare related mods
Standard Heavy Trauma reaches +90% Impact at rank 5, and Primed Heavy Trauma reaches +165% at rank 10; both are explicitly incompatible with this flawed version. Amalgam Organ Shatter has a different purpose, listing +85% critical damage and +60% heavy-attack wind-up speed. It may suit a build seeking those effects, but it is not another Impact-damage version.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The bonus applies to Impact damage rather than all damage types.
- The flawed mod has a lower maximum bonus than the standard and Primed versions.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating +60% Impact as +60% to all weapon damage.
- Trying to equip the flawed and standard or Primed versions together.
