Understand Primed Heavy Trauma
Useful when…
- Adding Impact damage to a melee setup.
- Comparing a higher-rank Impact bonus against Heavy Trauma when capacity and fusion investment matter.
Effect and fit
Primed Heavy Trauma grants +15% Impact at rank 0, +90% at rank 5, and +165% at rank 10. It is a standard melee mod with Naramon polarity, base drain 2, and maximum rank 10. These values describe the mod’s Impact bonus, not final weapon damage.
Fusion and slot choices
The bonus grows with rank, but late fusion is expensive: examples include 1,280 Endo and 61,824 Credits from rank 5 to 6, and 20,480 Endo and 989,184 Credits from rank 9 to 10. Its base drain of 2 is lower than several listed Primed mods, but still check available mod capacity before installing or ranking it. It uses a standard slot.
Related options and exclusions
Heavy Trauma is the standard counterpart, listed at +90% Impact and maximum rank 5; Flawed Heavy Trauma reaches +60% at rank 3. Primed Heavy Trauma explicitly excludes both, so they are alternatives. Amalgam Organ Shatter instead provides critical damage and heavy-attack wind-up speed, making it a different kind of melee option rather than an Impact-damage substitute.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- A low base drain does not eliminate the opportunity cost of a standard slot.
- High ranks substantially increase fusion costs; the Impact bonus is not a final-damage figure.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the mod’s Impact percentage as final damage.
- Equipping Heavy Trauma or Flawed Heavy Trauma with the Primed version despite the stated exclusions.
- Ignoring fusion costs because the base drain is only 2.
