Understand Hunter Command
Useful when…
- Direct the Companion toward enemies you have afflicted with Slash Status.
- Increase the trigger duration through mod ranks when you use this effect often.
Trigger and duration
Applying a Slash Status to an enemy triggers a Companion attack against that target. The effect lasts 1 second at rank 0, 4 seconds at rank 3, and 6 seconds at maximum rank. The trigger is the Slash Status application, not simply hitting an enemy.
Fit and investment
This is a standard Beast mod with Madurai polarity, base drain 4, and a maximum rank of 5. Rank it if the shorter command window is limiting its usefulness; later ranks extend the attack duration but have higher listed fusion costs.
Related Companion roles
Fetch serves a different purpose: it detects and collects items within 13.5m. Hunter Recovery heals the Warframe for a share of Companion damage dealt, while Tandem Bond links Companion melee hits and Heavy Attacks to combo and Companion melee damage. These are distinct functions rather than direct replacements for Hunter Command’s Slash-triggered targeting.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- It requires applying Slash Status to the target to trigger.
- Its benefit is a temporary attack command; the listed effect does not specify added damage.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming any hit triggers it; the condition is applying Slash Status.
- Treating its attack command as an increase to Companion damage.
