Understand Hydraulic Gauge
Useful when…
- Use on a compatible Conclave assault rifle when recoil makes sustained fire harder to control.
- Compare its capacity penalty against a magazine-focused option if you prefer fewer reloads.
What does it change?
At maximum rank, the standard mod effect is −60% weapon recoil and −10% magazine capacity. At rank 0 it gives −15% recoil and −2.5% capacity; rank 2 gives −45% recoil and −7.5% capacity.
Where does it fit?
This is a standard-slot Conclave mod for assault rifles, with Naramon polarity and a base drain of 6. It cannot be equipped with Double Tap, Loose Hatch, Maximum Capacity, or Precision Munition. Loose Hatch instead adds reload speed while increasing recoil; Maximum Capacity increases magazine capacity while reducing reload speed. Those are different handling tradeoffs, not direct substitutes for recoil control.
How far should you rank it?
Fusion raises the recoil reduction but also deepens the magazine penalty. The listed upgrades cost 30, 60, then 120 Endo, with credits of 1,449, 2,898, then 5,796 for successive ranks. Stop at a rank whose recoil benefit is worth the capacity loss on your rifle.
Practical caveats
Do not treat this as a damage bonus: its listed effects are recoil and magazine capacity. Deft Tempo is another assault-rifle Conclave mod, but it triggers on headshots and grants mobility for four seconds; it addresses movement rather than recoil.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Less recoil comes with a smaller magazine.
- Its exclusions prevent equipping several named assault-rifle Conclave mods alongside it.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Ranking it without accounting for the additional magazine-capacity penalty.
- Assuming it can be equipped with Loose Hatch or Maximum Capacity.
