Effect and fit
This standard shotgun mod has Naramon polarity, base drain 6, and a maximum rank of 5. It grants +15% Heat at rank 0, +60% at rank 3, and +90% at rank 5. The listed bonus is a mod effect, not a final weapon damage figure.
Rank investment
The Heat bonus grows with rank, but later fusion steps cost substantially more: the listed rank 4-to-5 step alone costs 320 Endo and 15,456 credits. A partial rank can provide a useful bonus while preserving capacity and resources for other mods.
Alternatives and exclusion
Flawed Incendiary Coat reaches +40% Heat at rank 3 and cannot be equipped with this standard version. Accelerated Blast offers +60% Fire Rate and +60% Puncture, while Amalgam Shotgun Barrage offers +85% Fire Rate and +45% Revive Speed. These alternatives address different goals rather than duplicating Heat damage.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Max rank provides the largest listed Heat bonus but costs more to fuse and uses base drain 6.
- The Flawed version cannot be equipped at the same time.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not treat +90% Heat as the shotgun’s total or final damage increase; it is the listed mod bonus.
