Understand Lightning Rod
Useful when…
- Add resistance to Electricity damage on a Warframe.
Effect and fitting
Lightning Rod grants up to +60% Electricity Resistance at rank 5; rank 0 grants +10%, and rank 3 grants +40%. It is a Common standard Warframe mod with Vazarin polarity and base drain 4. Its named incompatibility is Flawed Lightning Rod, so those two cannot be equipped together.
Rank investment
This mod has five ranks. The listed 4→5 step costs 160 Endo and 7,728 Credits for the increase from +50% to +60% resistance. Consider that last increment against the resources and capacity you want to spend on a resistance mod.
Related choices
Flawed Lightning Rod is a separate, lower-value version with a lower base drain and maximum rank 3; it is explicitly incompatible with Lightning Rod. Adaptation has a different trigger: it grants resistance to the damage type that hits you, stacking up to 90% for 20 seconds. It is not simply a fixed Electricity-resistance mod. Adept Surge is a Conclave Exilus mod with mobility and a health penalty, so it serves a different purpose.
Listed sources
The listed drop sources include several Healer and Moa enemy types and Ghoul Expired. The entries identify reward chances, but do not ensure a particular result in a given encounter.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Uses a standard Warframe slot for a specific damage-type resistance.
- Cannot be equipped alongside Flawed Lightning Rod.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Equipping it with Flawed Lightning Rod despite their listed incompatibility.
- Confusing fixed Electricity resistance with Adaptation's damage-triggered, temporary resistance.
