Understand Magnetic Welt
Useful when…
- Adding a chance for Magnetic status from Impact status effects on a compatible shotgun.
- Considering a slower-fire-rate shotgun where the listed chance is doubled below 2.5 Fire Rate.
Trigger and chance
At rank 0, Impact status effects have a 10% chance to apply a Magnetic status effect; rank 3 raises that to 25%, and maximum rank 5 gives 35%. The chance is doubled when Fire Rate is below 2.5. The trigger remains an Impact status effect, so the mod does not guarantee Magnetic on every hit.
Slot and rank costs
Magnetic Welt is a Rare, standard shotgun mod with Madurai polarity, base drain 10, and maximum rank 5. The supplied fusion examples include 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits from rank 0 to 1, 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits from rank 2 to 3, and 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits from rank 4 to 5. Its high base drain and increasing late-rank cost are relevant when deciding whether the higher proc chance fits your capacity and investment budget.
When another mod fits better
Magnetic Strafe provides direct Magnetic damage and Fire Rate bonuses rather than relying on an Impact status trigger. Critical Deceleration instead adds +200% Critical Chance and reduces Fire Rate by 20%. Nano-Applicator grants +90% Status Chance for 9 seconds while aiming, after an ability cast. These mods pursue different effects and conditions; compare their actual triggers and slot demands with the shotgun you are using.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The mod’s effect depends on Impact status effects; Fire Rate below 2.5 doubles the chance, but does not eliminate the trigger requirement.
- Base drain is 10, and the last listed rank step costs substantially more Endo and Credits than the early step.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not read the chance as a guaranteed Magnetic proc on each shot.
- Do not overlook the below-2.5 Fire Rate condition or the base drain of 10.
