Understand Merulina Guardian
Useful when…
- Restore some of Merulina’s health when an enemy is eliminated during Sea Snares.
- Use the healing-triggered Reload Speed and Fire Rate buff on Secondary weapons.
Trigger and effects
An enemy must be eliminated during Sea Snares for Merulina to be healed. At rank 0, each qualifying elimination heals 5% of Merulina’s health; at rank 3, it heals 20%. Upon healing, the augment grants Secondary weapons +50% Reload Speed and Fire Rate for 8 seconds at rank 0, rising to +200% for 20 seconds at rank 3.
Slot and use considerations
This Rare, standard Yareli augment has Zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. It uses a standard mod slot. Its weapon buff follows the healing event, so the benefit depends on both getting an elimination during Sea Snares and having a Secondary weapon to use during the timed buff.
Rank investment
Ranks increase both the healing per qualifying elimination and the buff’s magnitude and duration. Example fusion costs are 30 Endo and 1,449 credits for rank 0→1, 60 Endo and 2,898 credits for rank 1→2, and 120 Endo and 5,796 credits for rank 2→3. Lower ranks retain the same trigger but provide less healing and a shorter, weaker weapon buff.
Other Yareli augment effects
Loyal Merulina changes Merulina so it follows Yareli and casts Sea Snare on nearby enemies with a 2-second cooldown. Surging Blades lets Yareli throw a blade while Aquablades is active or on cooldown; its blades gain 10% damage when an Aquablade hits an enemy, and throwing costs no energy with Merulina. These effects differ from Guardian’s elimination-triggered healing and Secondary weapon buff.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The healing requires an enemy elimination during Sea Snares; casting the ability alone is not the stated trigger.
- The Secondary weapon bonuses occur upon healing and last for a rank-dependent duration.
- It uses a standard slot and has base drain 6.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming every Sea Snares cast grants the weapon buff; the stated buff follows healing.
- Assuming the buff applies to weapons other than Secondaries.
