Understand Surging Blades
Useful when…
- Add a throwable blade action while Aquablades is active or on cooldown.
- Use Merulina to throw without the listed cost, and build the blade damage bonus through Aquablade hits.
How the augment works
The augment lets Yareli activate Aquablades while the ability is in use or on cooldown to throw one blade. When any Aquablade hits an enemy, blades gain damage: 5% at rank 0, 8% at rank 2, and 10% at rank 3. Throwing has no cost with Merulina, according to the mod description.
Slot and investment
Surging Blades is a Yareli mod with Zenurik polarity, maximum rank 3, and base drain 6. Listed steps cost 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits from rank 0→1, 60 Endo and 2,898 Credits from 1→2, and 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits from 2→3. Rank it when the stronger hit-triggered blade bonus is worth those costs.
Other Yareli augments
Loyal Merulina changes Merulina so Yareli no longer rides it; Merulina follows and casts Sea Snare on nearby enemies with a 2-second cooldown. Merulina Guardian instead heals Merulina when enemies are eliminated during Sea Snares, then grants secondary Reload Speed and Fire Rate for 20 seconds upon healing. Those augments alter Merulina and secondary weapon support, rather than adding Surging Blades' throwable Aquablades action.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The damage increase is triggered by Aquablade hits; the provided figures do not establish final blade damage.
- The augment occupies a standard Yareli mod slot and has base drain 6.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the damage bonus triggers without an Aquablade hitting an enemy.
- Assuming the no-cost throw condition applies without Merulina.
