Understand Onslaught Matrix
Useful when…
- Increase Railjack turret damage while Hull remains at 100%.
- Gain a chance to reflect a portion of damage while Shields are above 80%.
- Increase Battle Mod Efficiency.
Effects and thresholds
At rank 0, Onslaught Matrix gives +2% Turret Damage while Hull is 100%, a 20% chance to reflect 4% Damage while Shields are over 80%, and +1% Battle Mod Efficiency. At rank 3, the listed values are +10%, the same 20% chance to reflect 17%, and +4% Battle Mod Efficiency. At rank 5, they are +15%, a 20% chance to reflect 25%, and +6% Battle Mod Efficiency. The Hull and Shield conditions apply only to their respective effects.
Ranking and capacity
The Railjack Aura has Madurai polarity, base drain -2, and maximum rank 5. Listed fusion costs include 20 Endo and 966 Credits for rank 0 to 1, 80 Endo and 3,864 Credits for rank 2 to 3, and 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits for rank 4 to 5. Rank investment improves the effect values, but turret damage requires full Hull and reflection requires Shields above 80%.
Other Railjack aura goals
Indomitable Matrix focuses on breach chance, shield recharge during breach, and Armor below 36% Hull. Ironclad Matrix raises Hull, Armor, maximum Shields, and Shield Recharge, while Orgone Tuning Matrix focuses on Forge capacity and cooldown, elemental resistance, and turret heat capacity. These address defense or engineering needs rather than Onslaught Matrix's conditional turret damage and reflection.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Turret damage bonus requires 100% Hull.
- Damage reflection requires Shields over 80% and is chance-based.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying the turret damage bonus when Hull is below 100%.
- Reading the 20% reflection chance as a 20% damage reflection amount.
