Understand Ordnance Velocity
Useful when…
- Railjack combat where faster Ordnance projectiles are useful for your firing distances or targets.
Effect and use
The bonus rises from 10% projectile speed at rank 0 to 40% at rank 3 and 60% at rank 5. This applies to Ordnance projectiles. It is distinct from Turret Velocity, which affects turret range and projectile speed, and from Railjack speed mods, which affect the ship’s movement.
Slot and investment
This is a standard Plexus mod with Madurai polarity, a base drain of 4, and a maximum rank of 5. Its listed rank 4-to-5 step costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits. Raise it as far as the projectile-speed benefit is useful to your setup; no incompatible mod names are specified.
Practical distinction
Turret Velocity is the closer choice if you want faster turret projectiles and additional turret range. Conic Nozzle increases Railjack speed, while Cruising Speed increases it only when no enemies are within 3000 m. These mods affect different systems, so choose according to whether you mean Ordnance travel, turret fire, or ship movement.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Uses a standard Plexus slot and has base drain 4.
- The speed bonus does not apply to turret projectiles or Railjack movement.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Equipping it to improve turret projectile speed or Railjack movement.
- Assuming the listed speed bonus is a damage increase.
