Understand Phoenix Renewal
Useful when…
- Add a fatal-damage safeguard while Oberon or allies are under Renewal.
- Increase the safeguard’s restored Health by ranking the augment.
Effect and trigger
While under the effects of Renewal, taking fatal damage instead heals the affected ally. The restoration is 20% Health at rank 0, 35% at rank 2, and 50% at rank 3. It triggers only once for each ally every 60 seconds, so it is a limited rescue effect rather than continuous protection.
Fit and alternatives
Phoenix Renewal is a standard Oberon mod with Zenurik polarity and base drain 6. Other supplied Oberon augments change different abilities: Hallowed Reckoning modifies Reckoning with range, ally armor, and enemy damage effects; Smite Infusion grants allies Radiation Damage after a held Smite cast. Defiled Reckoning is explicitly a Conclave variant. These effects do not replace Phoenix Renewal’s Renewal-triggered fatal-damage safeguard.
Ranking and limits
The augment reaches rank 3. Listed rank-up steps cost 30, 60, and 120 Endo, and 1,449, 2,898, and 5,796 Credits respectively. Ranking raises the restored Health threshold; it does not change the once-per-ally 60-second trigger described for the augment.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Requires Renewal to be active on the ally for the safeguard to apply.
- The once-per-ally 60-second limit prevents repeated triggers during that interval.
- Ranking improves the Health restored but requires fusion resources.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the effect to trigger when Renewal is not affecting the ally.
- Assuming the safeguard can trigger repeatedly for the same ally within 60 seconds.
- Treating it as a substitute for avoiding incoming damage.
