How does ammo conversion work?
At rank 0, the mod converts Primary ammo pickups to 8% of an Ammo Pick Up; rank 3 converts 33%, and rank 5 converts 50%. It changes how Primary pickups contribute to pistol ammunition, rather than increasing pistol damage or general ammo capacity.
When is it useful?
Consider it if you use a pistol that benefits from receiving ammo through Primary pickups. The conversion only concerns Primary ammo pickups, so it does not make unrelated pickups into pistol ammo.
Rank, slot, and compatibility
This Rare pistol Exilus mod has Naramon polarity, base drain 2, and a maximum rank of 5. Rank 3 already provides 33% conversion; the final step raises it to 50% and costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits. It is incompatible with Primed Pistol Ammo Mutation, so do not plan to equip both together.

Primed Pistol Ammo Mutation lists 92% conversion from Primary ammo pickups and is also an Exilus mod, while the standard mod is capped at 50% and explicitly excludes the Primed version.
