Understand Pressure Point
Useful when…
- Increase melee damage without a listed trigger or enemy-faction condition.
- Use as a standard Pressure Point option when its rank and polarity fit the melee build.
Effect and application
Pressure Point is a common, standard-slot melee mod with Madurai polarity. Its listed bonus scales from +20% Melee Damage at rank 0 to +80% at rank 3 and +120% at rank 5. The effect is a mod bonus, not a statement of final weapon damage.
Rank investment
The listed fusion examples rise from 10 Endo and 483 Credits for rank 0 to 1, to 40 Endo and 1,932 Credits from rank 2 to 3, and 160 Endo and 7,728 Credits from rank 4 to 5. Rank 3 already provides +80%; the final two ranks add another 40 percentage points in total, so whether to finish depends on your mod capacity and fusion priorities.
Variants and exclusions
Flawed Pressure Point reaches +80% at rank 3. Primed Pressure Point lists +165% at its maximum rank, while Sacrificial Pressure lists +110% Melee Damage and 1.33× damage to Sentients, with Umbra polarity. Pressure Point explicitly excludes these named variants, so choose one applicable version rather than planning to equip them together.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its damage bonus rises with rank and corresponding fusion cost.
- The listed Primed variant has a higher maximum bonus; Sacrificial Pressure has a lower general bonus but a Sentient-specific modifier.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Equipping Pressure Point with one of its explicitly excluded named variants.
- Treating the listed bonus as the melee weapon’s final damage.
