Primed Steady Hands

Pistol exilus recoil-control mod

Released Apr 3, 2025

Primed Steady Hands reduces recoil on pistols by up to 85%. Consider it when recoil makes a pistol harder to control; it uses an exilus slot rather than a standard mod slot.

Understand Primed Steady Hands

Useful when…

  • Reducing recoil on a compatible pistol when maintaining aim is a priority.
  • Using an exilus slot for recoil control while keeping standard slots available for other mods.

Effect and fit

The mod reduces pistol weapon recoil: 7.7% at rank 0, 46.4% at rank 5, and 85% at rank 10. It is a standard-variant pistol exilus mod with Naramon polarity and a maximum rank of 10.

Rank investment

Fusion raises recoil reduction, but the costs rise sharply at higher ranks. The supplied examples list 1,280 Endo and 61,824 Credits for ranks 5 to 6, and 20,480 Endo and 989,184 Credits for ranks 9 to 10. A lower rank provides some recoil reduction if you want to defer the final investment.

Alternatives and exclusions

Steady Hands is a related standard pistol exilus mod with a listed 90% recoil reduction at its maximum rank of 5, but Primed Steady Hands cannot be equipped alongside it. Accelerated Isotope occupies a standard slot and adds Radiation and fire rate, so it serves a different purpose. Air Recon is a Conclave exilus mod that reduces zoom while aim gliding; its effect is conditional on that movement state.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Uses an exilus slot and fusion resources to improve handling rather than directly adding damage.
  • Cannot be equipped with Steady Hands.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Treating recoil reduction as a damage bonus.
  • Trying to equip it together with Steady Hands.
