Repeater Clip

Shotgun fire-rate mod

Released Jan 25, 2016

Repeater Clip temporarily increases a shotgun’s fire rate after reloading, but only while you aim. Consider it when you routinely reload and fire down sights during the buff window.

Repeater Clip GUIDE

Understand Repeater Clip

Useful when…

  • Shotguns used while aiming after a reload
  • A build that can accommodate a Madurai-polarity standard mod

Effect and trigger

Reloading activates the bonus: at maximum rank, aiming grants +105% fire rate for 9 seconds. At rank 0, the bonus is +17.5% for 2 seconds; rank 3 gives +70% for 6 seconds. The effect is explicitly tied to aiming, so firing from the hip does not meet its stated condition.

Fitting and ranking it

This is a standard shotgun mod with Madurai polarity, base drain 4, and maximum rank 5. Each rank improves both the fire-rate bonus and its duration. Rank it further when you can make use of the longer aimed-fire window; the listed fusion examples show rising Endo and credit costs at higher steps. No weapon-specific exclusions are listed.

Tradeoffs and alternatives

The benefit is conditional and temporary, so it contributes nothing to hip-fired shots or shots outside the post-reload window. Accelerated Blast offers a static +60% fire rate alongside +60% Puncture, while Amalgam Shotgun Barrage offers +85% fire rate and +45% revive speed; those descriptions do not impose Repeater Clip’s aim-after-reload condition. Magnetic Welt instead has a conditional Magnetic status effect tied to Impact status effects, so it serves a different purpose.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Requires both a reload trigger and aiming to access its bonus.
  • The bonus expires after a rank-dependent duration.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Expecting the bonus to apply while hip-firing.
  • Treating the fire-rate increase as permanent instead of a timed post-reload effect.
