Understand Sentient Scalpel
Useful when…
- Prepare Railjack turrets for combat against Sentients.
- Choose a faction-specific turret option when its target condition matches the encounter.
Effect and target
At rank 0, Sentient Scalpel multiplies turret damage against Sentients by 1.05; at rank 3 the multiplier is 1.18, and at rank 5 it is 1.27. The faction condition matters: the listed multiplier is specifically against Sentients.
Rank cost and capacity
This Plexus mod has Madurai polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 5. The final listed example, ranks 4–5, costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits. Rank it when the Sentient-specific multiplier is useful enough to justify Plexus capacity and fusion resources.
Compare by encounter
Granum’s Nemesis has the same rank-5 multiplier against Corpus, so its faction condition differs. Hyperstrike instead lists +75% turret damage without a faction condition in the supplied description, while Crimson Fugue builds turret damage per enemy destroyed for eight seconds, up to five stacks. These serve different circumstances; none is automatically the right choice for every mission.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The damage multiplier is restricted to Sentients.
- The mod uses 6 base drain and competes for Plexus capacity.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the multiplier against non-Sentient opponents.
- Comparing its faction-specific multiplier directly with conditional or general turret bonuses without accounting for their different conditions.
