Useful when…
- Convert part of melee damage to Puncture in Conclave.
- Choose Puncture conversion over the listed Impact or Slash conversion options.
Conversion effect
At rank 0, 5% of damage is converted into Puncture; rank 2 converts 15%, and rank 3 converts 20%. It is a Conclave melee mod, so its role is damage-type conversion rather than a flat damage increase.
Rank and exclusions
Serrated Edges has Madurai polarity, base drain 2, and max rank 3. The listed final step from rank 2 to 3 costs 80 Endo and 3,864 Credits. Counterweight and Sharpened Blade are explicitly incompatible with it; both convert the same portion of melee damage to a different physical type.
Compare conversion goals
Counterweight converts damage to Impact and Sharpened Blade converts it to Slash. Amalgam Organ Shatter instead increases critical damage and heavy-attack wind-up speed, so it serves a different purpose rather than acting as a conversion alternative.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Converts damage type rather than adding a stated flat damage bonus.
- Cannot be used with Counterweight or Sharpened Blade.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Reading the conversion percentage as an increase to total damage.
- Trying to combine it with either explicitly incompatible physical-damage conversion mod.
