Understand Serration
Useful when…
- Add damage to a rifle with a standard rifle mod.
- Invest in a long-rank damage mod when its capacity cost is manageable.
Effect and compatibility
Serration grants +15% damage at rank 0, +90% at rank 5, and +165% at rank 10. It is a standard rifle mod with Madurai polarity and base drain 4. The explicitly incompatible mods are Amalgam Serration, Higasa Serration, Flawed Serration, and Spectral Serration.
Rank costs and investment
Serration has a maximum rank of 10. Early fusion is relatively modest in the listed examples, while the final step from rank 9 to 10 costs 10,240 Endo and 494,592 Credits. The rank 5–6 step costs 640 Endo and 30,912 Credits. Raise it in stages if capacity permits; finishing the last ranks is a substantial resource commitment.
Related options are conditional
Amalgam Serration lists +155% damage and +25% sprint speed; Flawed Serration tops out at +40% and has lower base drain; Spectral Serration lists +330% damage while invisible. They have distinct stats or conditions, and each is incompatible with Serration. They are alternatives, not additions to it.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Maximum rank requires substantial Endo and Credits.
- Cannot be combined with the named Serration variants.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating its listed bonus as final weapon damage.
- Attempting to stack it with an explicitly incompatible Serration variant.
- Underestimating the steep fusion cost of the final ranks.
