Understand Spectral Serration
Useful when…
- Rifle builds that can reliably fire while invisible and have room for this mod.
Effect and restriction
Spectral Serration gives +30% damage while invisible at rank 0, +180% at rank 5, and +330% at rank 10. The bonus is conditional on invisibility. It is incompatible with Amalgam Serration, Higasa Serration, Flawed Serration, and Serration, so it cannot be combined with those named mods.
Slot, polarity, and fusion cost
This Rare Standard Rifle mod uses a standard slot, has Madurai polarity and 6 base drain, and reaches rank 10. Fusion costs grow steeply: the listed 5-to-6 step costs 960/46,368 and the 9-to-10 step costs 15,360/741,888 Endo/Credits. Its max-rank conditional bonus is substantial, but rank investment is most relevant if invisibility is available during your rifle attacks.
Compare damage conditions
Serration is listed at +165% damage without an invisibility condition; Amalgam Serration gives +155% damage and +25% sprint speed. Flawed Serration gives +40% damage and is explicitly one of Spectral Serration's exclusions. These stated values and conditions clarify the tradeoff, but the excluded Serration variants cannot be installed alongside Spectral Serration.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its damage bonus applies only while invisible.
- High ranks require steeply increasing fusion costs.
- It excludes four named Serration mods.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Counting the bonus when not invisible.
- Trying to equip it together with Amalgam Serration, Higasa Serration, Flawed Serration, or Serration.
- Ignoring the sharp increase in Endo and Credits at high ranks.
