Understand Sharpshooter
Useful when…
- Use when weak-point kills with a sniper are frequent enough to support energy recovery.
- Consider other sniper mods when reload speed or first-shot damage is the priority.
What triggers the energy gain?
Sharpshooter is a standard sniper mod. It grants energy only on a weak-point kill: +5 at rank 0, +10 at rank 5, and +15 at rank 10. A weak-point hit without a kill does not satisfy the listed trigger.
Is it a fit for your sniper?
It suits a setup that can consistently finish enemies with weak-point hits and values energy from those kills. Emergent Aftermath is a Conclave sniper mod that grants reload speed after a kill; Aero Agility grants reload speed while aim gliding; Charged Chamber adds damage to the first shot in the magazine. Those effects do not restore energy and have their own mode or condition requirements.
How should you rank it?
Sharpshooter has Naramon polarity, base drain 2, and a maximum rank of 10. Its energy return grows from +5 to +15 across the listed ranks. The fusion examples show much larger costs near the top of this long rank track, so prioritize those ranks only if the larger per-kill return is worth the Endo and Credits to you.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Energy is granted only for weak-point kills, so hits and non-weak-point kills do not trigger the listed effect.
- A long rank track makes high-rank fusion increasingly resource-intensive.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not expect energy from a weak-point hit unless it kills the target.
- Do not mistake the Conclave reload mod for an energy-restoration alternative.
