Understand Shock Absorbers
Useful when…
- Adding a modest physical-damage defense through a standard Warframe mod slot.
What it does
At maximum rank, the standard Warframe mod provides +20% Physical Damage Resistance. It starts at +5% at rank 0 and reaches +15% at rank 2. Its Vazarin polarity and base drain of 4 help determine how it fits into a mod configuration.
When to invest
The final rank adds 5 percentage points over rank 2, while its listed fusion steps cost 30, 60, then 120 Endo and 1,449, 2,898, then 5,796 Credits. Stop earlier if the remaining capacity or resources serve more useful parts of the build. Adaptation is a different option: it builds resistance to the damage type that hits you and can stack to 90%, while Antitoxin targets Toxin resistance. Those conditional or damage-specific effects are not identical to this mod’s physical resistance.
Fit and limitations
This is a standard Warframe mod, not a Conclave mod. Anti-Flak Plating is a Conclave variant that grants Blast resistance and reduces mobility, so it is not a like-for-like standard-slot substitute. Shock Absorbers provides only physical damage resistance; do not treat it as broad resistance to every damage type or as knockdown protection.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Uses a standard Warframe mod slot and capacity for a narrow physical-resistance effect.
- Ranking from 2 to 3 adds 5 percentage points at a higher listed fusion cost than the first two steps.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming its physical resistance applies to all damage types.
- Confusing it with knockdown protection or with the Conclave-only Anti-Flak Plating.
