Understand Flawed Shredder

Effect and fit
Flawed Shredder is a standard-slot shotgun mod with Naramon polarity and base drain 2. It grants +3% Slash at rank 0, +9% at rank 2, and +12% at rank 3. The listed bonus describes the mod’s Slash effect; it does not by itself specify the weapon’s final damage increase.
Rank investment
The mod’s maximum rank is 3. Each listed fusion step costs more than the preceding one: 10 Endo and 483 Credits for 0→1, 20 Endo and 966 Credits for 1→2, then 40 Endo and 1,932 Credits for 2→3. The last figure is only the cost of that step.
How it compares
Standard Shredder is a separate shotgun mod with a listed maximum +90% Slash bonus, maximum rank 5, and base drain 4; Flawed Shredder is explicitly incompatible with it. Accelerated Blast instead lists Fire Rate and Puncture bonuses, while Amalgam Shotgun Barrage lists Fire Rate and Revive Speed. Those mods have different effects and are not equivalent Slash upgrades.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The maximum listed Slash bonus is +12%.
- Base drain is 2, but the flawed variant cannot be equipped with standard Shredder.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating +12% Slash as a direct increase of 12% to final weapon damage.
- Assuming the 2→3 fusion cost is the total investment.
- Trying to equip it together with standard Shredder.
