Understand Smite Corpus
Useful when…
- Add to a melee weapon for missions centered on Corpus enemies.
- Keep it at a lower rank when conserving Endo and credits for other upgrades.
Effect and fit
This standard, Uncommon melee mod has Madurai polarity and a base drain of 4. It raises damage to Corpus from x1.05 at rank 0 to x1.2 at rank 3 and x1.3 at rank 5. It does not provide the same faction bonus against other enemy groups.
Ranking and alternatives
The mod can reach rank 5. The listed rank 4-to-5 step costs 320 Endo and 15,456 credits, so weigh the final increase from the lower ranks against other upgrades competing for those resources. Primed Smite Corpus reaches x1.55 at its listed maximum, while Flawed Smite Corpus reaches x1.2 at rank 3; these are separate variants and cannot be equipped alongside this mod. Amalgam Organ Shatter instead offers critical damage and heavy attack wind-up speed, so it serves a different build purpose rather than matching the faction bonus.
Practical limits
Use it only when the target faction is Corpus; its faction-specific effect is wasted against other groups. It occupies a standard melee mod slot, so compare its benefit with the other effects you need on that weapon. The listed drop sources include Fusion Moa, Vapos Fusion Moa, several Demolisher units, Mimic, and specified Duviri Endless tiers.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Faction-specific benefit limits its value when fighting other enemy groups.
- Ranking from 4 to 5 has a listed cost of 320 Endo and 15,456 credits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the bonus to apply against non-Corpus enemies.
- Equipping this together with its Flawed or Primed variant; the variants are incompatible.
