Understand Spare Parts
Useful when…
- Use on a Robotic companion when you want the mod’s drop bonus to apply to marked targets you kill.
Mark and drop effect
The companion marks a target every 15 seconds, and the mark lasts 15 seconds. At rank 0, the marked target is 34% more likely to drop an item when killed; at rank 3, 134%; and at rank 5, 200%. These are increases in likelihood, not guaranteed drops. The benefit is tied to killing the marked target while the mark is active.
Compatibility and ranking
Spare Parts is an Uncommon Standard Robotic mod with Naramon polarity, base drain 2, and a maximum rank of 5. Listed individual rank-step costs rise from 20 Endo and 966 Credits for ranks 0→1 to 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits for ranks 4→5. Ranking raises the listed drop bonus, so investment matters most when you regularly kill targets during the mark; the supplied rank values do not establish a need to max it for every setup.
Other companion effects
The listed companion mods serve different purposes. Manifold Bond applies status effects from companion weapons through precept mods and reduces companion ability cooldowns by 3 seconds when an enemy with at least three unique status effects is killed. Coolant Leak unleashes a 10 m Cold blast when multiple enemies are nearby, with a 10-second cooldown. Guardian boosts the owner's shield by 100% when it runs out. These effects do not describe Spare Parts' marked-target drop bonus.
Listed sources
The listed sources include Corrupted Bombard, Corrupted Drahk Master, Corrupted Heavy Gunner, and Corrupted Nullifier, each with a listed chance of 0.33, and Lephantis with a listed chance of 22.11. The supplied values do not specify their units.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The bonus depends on killing the companion's marked target while the mark is active.
- Later rank-step examples require more Endo and Credits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating increased drop likelihood as a guaranteed drop.
- Expecting the bonus on an unmarked target or after the mark expires.
