Understand Spoiled Strike
Useful when…
- Add melee damage when a slower attack cadence is acceptable.
- Use its rank scaling to choose a point between lower cost and stronger damage and speed changes.
Effect and compatibility
Spoiled Strike is a standard Madurai melee mod with base drain 4 and maximum rank 3. At rank 0 it gives +25% melee damage and −5% attack speed; at rank 3 it gives +100% melee damage and −20% attack speed.
Choose rank deliberately
The listed steps cost 30, 60, and 120 Endo, plus 1,449, 2,898, and 5,796 credits. At rank 2, the effects are +75% damage and −15% attack speed; the last step adds 25 percentage points of damage while worsening the attack-speed penalty by 5 points. This makes stopping below maximum reasonable when preserving cadence matters more than the final damage increase.
Distinct alternatives
Berserker Fury gains attack speed after melee kills, stacking up to twice for 10 seconds; Flawed Berserker Fury has a smaller listed bonus under the same kill condition. These are conditional attack-speed effects, unlike Spoiled Strike's rank-based damage increase and speed penalty. Killing Blow targets heavy attacks specifically, granting heavy-attack damage and wind-up speed. None is an identical replacement; choose according to whether ordinary cadence, kill-triggered speed, or heavy attacks matter.
Acquisition
The listed drop source is Derelict Vault. No other acquisition route is specified here.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Every rank increases the damage bonus while also making attack speed slower.
- It occupies a standard melee slot with base drain 4.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not read the damage bonus without accounting for the accompanying attack-speed penalty.
- Do not mistake Berserker Fury's kill-triggered speed bonus or Killing Blow's heavy-attack effect for unconditional equivalents.
