Understand Spring-Loaded Chamber
Useful when…
- Gain temporary fire rate after reloading while aiming.
- Use on a compatible assault rifle in a standard slot.
Trigger and duration
At rank 5, reloading grants +75% fire rate when aiming for 9 seconds. At rank 0, it grants +12.5% for 2 seconds. Both the reload trigger and aiming condition matter; it is not described as a permanent fire-rate increase.
Fit and ranking
This standard Madurai mod is for assault rifles, has base drain 2, and reaches rank 5. The listed costs are 20, 40, 80, 160, and 320 Endo, plus credits increasing from 966 to 15,456 per step. At rank 3, it grants +50% fire rate while aiming for 6 seconds. Higher ranks extend both the bonus and duration, making the last ranks relevant when you can use the trigger consistently.
Similar aiming mods are distinct
Guided Ordnance grants accuracy after a hit while aiming, not fire rate. Gun Glide is a Conclave Exilus mod that improves recoil and accuracy while sliding. Loose Hatch improves reload speed but also increases recoil, and is a Conclave standard-slot mod. These effects do not replace Spring-Loaded Chamber's reload-triggered, aiming-only fire-rate bonus.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The fire-rate bonus requires a reload and applies only while aiming for a limited duration.
- It is compatible with assault rifles rather than all rifles.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not expect the bonus to apply when firing without aiming.
- Do not confuse it with Guided Ordnance's accuracy bonus or Loose Hatch's reload-speed bonus.
