Understand Flawed Steel Fiber
Useful when…
- Add Armor with a lower base drain than the standard Steel Fiber mod.
- Use a short three-rank progression for a modest Armor increase.
Effect and compatibility
The Armor bonus rises from 8% at rank 0 to 24% at rank 2 and 32% at rank 3. It is a flawed standard Warframe mod with Vazarin polarity and 2 base drain. Steel Fiber and Umbral Fiber are explicitly incompatible with it.
When to consider another option
Standard Steel Fiber reaches +100% Armor at rank 10 and has 4 base drain; Umbral Fiber also reaches +100% Armor, adds +11% Tau Resistance, and has Umbra polarity with 6 base drain. Those comparisons provide different capacity and effect profiles. Flawed Steel Fiber's 2 base drain may be useful when capacity is constrained, but it has a lower Armor ceiling.
Ranking and cost
The supplied upgrade examples show the rank 2 to 3 step costs 40 Endo and 1,932 Credits. That final rank raises the listed bonus from 24% to 32%; consider the increase in light of your capacity and Armor needs.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its Armor bonus tops out below the listed standard and Umbral Fiber bonuses.
- It cannot be equipped with Steel Fiber or Umbral Fiber.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the flawed version as compatible with Steel Fiber or Umbral Fiber.
- Expecting it to reach the standard mod's 100% Armor bonus.
