Understand Sure Shot
Useful when…
- Increase a pistol's Status Chance using a standard mod slot.
- Use intermediate ranks when the added status chance matters but the final fusion cost is not justified.
Effect and slot
Sure Shot gives +15% Status Chance at rank 0, +60% at rank 3, and +90% at rank 5. It is an Uncommon standard pistol mod with Vazarin polarity and base drain 2. It is incompatible with Flawed Sure Shot and Galvanized Shot.
Rank costs
Listed steps cost 20 Endo and 966 Credits from rank 0→1, 80 Endo and 3,864 Credits from 2→3, and 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits from 4→5. Rank it further when the higher Status Chance bonus is worth the increasing fusion cost.
Other pistol effects
Galvanized Shot is explicitly incompatible and has a different listed effect: +80% Status Chance, with an on-kill direct damage bonus per status type affecting the target for 14 seconds, stacking up to three times. Accelerated Isotope adds Radiation and Fire Rate; Air Recon is a Conclave Exilus mod that reduces zoom while Aim Gliding. These are different choices, not equivalent status-only replacements.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Full rank takes larger listed Endo and Credit steps than early ranks.
- It cannot be equipped with either named incompatible status mod.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Planning to equip Sure Shot and Galvanized Shot together despite the explicit incompatibility.
- Confusing its Status Chance bonus with a flat damage bonus.
