Understand Target Acquired
Useful when…
- Increasing the headshot multiplier on a sniper rifle
- Focusing a sniper setup on accurate headshots
Effect and weapon fit
At maximum rank, Target Acquired adds 60% to Headshot Multiplier; it adds 10% at rank 0 and 40% at rank 3. It is a standard Sniper mod, so it is intended for sniper weapons rather than rifles generally.
When it is useful
The benefit is tied to headshots, so it suits a player who can consistently aim at weak points and wants to improve that part of a sniper setup. It does not itself improve reload speed, magazine capacity, or the damage of every shot regardless of hit location.
Rank and slot tradeoff
The mod has Madurai polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 5. Ranking it from 4 to 5 costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits for the increase from 40% at rank 3 to 60% at rank 5. Compare that investment and slot use with the value you place on headshots in your weapon's use.
Other sniper priorities
Aero Agility grants reload speed while aim gliding; Charged Chamber adds damage to the first shot in the magazine; Depleted Reload trades magazine capacity for reload speed. These solve different handling or shot-pattern needs, so they are alternatives to consider when those specific benefits matter more than a headshot multiplier.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its benefit is focused on headshots, so it contributes less to a setup that rarely lands them.
- Base drain is 6, which competes with other sniper mod choices.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the headshot multiplier bonus as damage on every hit.
- Installing it on a non-sniper weapon; it is a Sniper mod.
