Understand Tenacious Bond
Useful when…
- Adding final critical damage when Companion Critical Chance is over 50%.
- Reducing Companion Recovery timer through headshot kills.
Effects and threshold
At rank 0, headshot kills reduce Companion Recovery timer by 0.5 seconds and a companion above 50% critical chance grants +0.2x Final Critical Damage Multiplier. At rank 3 the values are 2 seconds and +0.8x; at rank 5 they are 3 seconds and +1.2x. The critical-damage effect is conditional on the companion being over 50%, not equal to 50%. It is a standard Companion mod with Vazarin polarity and maximum rank 5.
Rank costs and setup
Fusion costs are 30 Endo and 1,449 credits for 0→1, 120 and 5,796 for 2→3, and 480 and 23,184 for 4→5. The final step is costly, so consider the companion's critical chance before investing heavily: without exceeding 50%, the listed critical-damage benefit does not activate. Headshot kills still reduce recovery according to rank.
Related Bond effects
Aerial Bond ties recovery reduction and a cold field to being airborne; Duplex Bond creates clones after energy expenditure; Restorative Bond links health orbs to companion healing and recovery reduction. They have distinct triggers and benefits, so compare those conditions with Tenacious Bond's headshot and critical-chance requirements.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The critical-damage bonus requires Companion Critical Chance to exceed 50%.
- The final rank's listed fusion step costs 480 Endo and 23,184 credits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the critical-damage effect activates at exactly 50% companion critical chance.
- Expecting recovery reduction without headshot kills.
