Understand Tidal Impunity
Useful when…
- Use when Tidal Surge's status cleansing and contact-based ally protection are useful.
What happens when Tidal Surge contacts someone?
The augment clears status effects and grants status immunity to Hydroid and allies who come in contact with Tidal Surge. The immunity lasts 8 seconds at rank 0, 10 seconds at rank 2, and 12 seconds at rank 3. Tidal Surge's Energy cost is reduced to 15 at all listed ranks.
When is it useful?
Consider it when cleansing status effects and protecting allies who are contacted by the surge are more valuable to your build than another augment effect. Rank increases the immunity duration, while the listed 15 Energy cost does not change. The mod has Zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and fits Hydroid.
How does it compare with Hydroid's other augments?
Rousing Plunder modifies Plunder's Corrosive damage and armor and heals nearby allies; Viral Tempest gives Tempest Barrage projectiles a Viral status chance; Pilfering Swarm concerns extra drops from enemies held by tentacles. These address different abilities and purposes, so they are not direct substitutes for Tidal Impunity's Tidal Surge cleansing and immunity.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The immunity applies to allies who come in contact with Tidal Surge.
- Fusion lengthens immunity but does not further reduce the listed 15 Energy cost.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not assume allies receive the effect without contact with Tidal Surge.
