Understand Valence Formation
Useful when…
- Apply a weapon element and guaranteed Status after casting an ability imbued with extra Elemental Damage.
- Use when ability imbues are part of the Lavos build and a timed weapon bonus is useful.
Trigger and duration
The augment activates when Lavos casts an ability imbued with extra Elemental Damage. It applies that element as a bonus to weapons with guaranteed Status for 20 seconds. The listed effect therefore depends on the ability carrying an extra elemental imbue when cast.
Rank scaling and cost
The weapon bonus is +50% at rank 0, +150% at rank 2, and +200% at rank 3; the guaranteed Status and 20-second duration are shown at each rank. Example fusion costs are 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits for 0→1, 60 Endo and 2,898 Credits for 1→2, and 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits for 2→3. Rank increases the bonus, so weigh the added strength against the relatively direct fusion cost.
Other Lavos augment effects
Swift Bite reduces ability cooldowns by 4 seconds when Ophidian Bite hits at least four enemies and grants that ability 30% additional range. Lingering Transmutation changes Transmutation Probe behavior: after reaching maximum range, it returns to its cast position and remains nearby for 15 seconds, with recasting to recall and recasting again to end it. Both are different Lavos augment effects and do not provide Valence Formation’s weapon elemental bonus.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Requires casting an ability imbued with extra Elemental Damage.
- The weapon bonus lasts 20 seconds, so the effect is timed.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the weapon bonus to trigger from an ability cast without extra Elemental Damage imbued.
- Treating the guaranteed Status and bonus as permanent rather than limited to the listed 20 seconds.
