Venomous Clip

Archgun toxin damage mod

Released Oct 24, 2014

Venomous Clip adds Toxin damage to an Archgun. Consider it when an elemental Toxin bonus fits the Archgun’s damage setup and the slot is more useful for that than ammunition or conditional handling effects.

Venomous Clip GUIDE

Understand Venomous Clip

Useful when…

  • Adding Toxin damage to a compatible Archgun.

Effect and rank

The mod adds 20% Toxin at rank 0, 80% at rank 3, and 120% at rank 5. These are listed mod bonuses, not final damage values. It is a standard Archgun mod with Vazarin polarity, base drain 4, and maximum rank 5.

Investment and fit

Rank 4 to 5 costs 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits for the listed increase from 100% to 120% Toxin. Its explicitly named incompatible mod is Primed Venomous Clip, which lists +187% Toxin and has a maximum rank of 10. Do not treat them as equipable together.

Other Archgun slot roles

Ammo Chain adds +100% Ammo Maximum. Archgun Ace instead activates on a headshot kill, granting +50% Fire/Charge Rate and +100% Reload Speed for 9 seconds. These address ammunition capacity and a conditional handling window, respectively, rather than adding Toxin.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The mod uses a standard Archgun slot.
  • Its named Primed version is explicitly incompatible.
  • Higher ranks increase cost for smaller incremental increases.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Trying to equip Primed Venomous Clip alongside this explicitly incompatible mod.
  • Treating the listed +120% bonus as final Archgun damage.
  • Confusing Archgun Ace's headshot-kill condition with a passive effect.
