Understand Whiplash Mine
Useful when…
- Use when enemies can remain within the mine’s range for the three-second delay.
- Rank it up when you want the snare and pull to reach farther.
Snare and pull conditions
At rank 3, the mine snares enemies within 20 meters. After three seconds, enemies still in range are pulled to the mine, so the pull depends on them remaining in range until the delay ends.
Rank progression and fit
This common, standard MOA mod has Penjaga polarity, a base drain of 2, and a maximum rank of 3. Its range rises from 5 meters at rank 0 to 15 meters at rank 2 and 20 meters at rank 3; the three-second delay remains the same. The rank 2 to 3 fusion step costs 40 Endo and 1,932 Credits.
Other MOA precepts have different effects
Anti-Grav Grenade levitates enemies within 6 meters for six seconds, then deals Impact Damage based on damage they took while floating. Security Override auto-hacks consoles over two seconds and, after hacking, has a 30% chance to mind-control basic robotic enemies and turrets within 30 meters for 14 seconds. These effects serve different purposes from Whiplash Mine’s timed snare and pull.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The pull happens after three seconds and only affects enemies still in range.
- The listed effect is crowd control, not a direct damage bonus.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the pull immediately; it occurs after three seconds.
- Assuming enemies that leave the mine’s range before the delay ends will still be pulled.
