Attribute requirements and skill effectiveness

Attributes below a skill’s recommended requirement reduce its effectiveness, while attributes above it grant an effectiveness bonus.

How it works

The source says each attribute point below the recommended requirement reduces skill effectiveness by 10%, while each point above grants a 5% bonus. Effectiveness affects the chance of causing the skill’s status effect and its damage. Its Chain Lightning example gives 70% base Stunned chance at 13 Intelligence, 60% at 12, and 85% at 16.

Read the supporting references

Source-bounded reference to skill learning, tiers, ability progression, skill requirements, and weapon abilities. Skill names without described effects are omitted except where used as a documented tier or requirement example. The supplied passages do not describe talents or equipment item effects. Guidance explains the referenced mechanics; it is not a tested damage ranking. Check the stated edition and source version before applying a patch-specific detail.
