Understand Instructor
Useful when…
- Reaction-focused support
- Lower-rarity set option for a wearer who can trigger reactions
Bonuses and trigger
Two pieces grant 80 Elemental Mastery. With four pieces, triggering an Elemental Reaction increases all party members' Elemental Mastery by 120 for 8 seconds. The reaction must be triggered by the wearer to activate the party buff.
Practical use
The set combines personal Elemental Mastery with a timed party buff, so it suits a wearer whose role already involves causing reactions. The 8-second duration means the buff depends on refreshing it through another reaction; it does not continuously apply just because the wearer has four pieces.
Alternatives and tradeoffs
Gilded Dreams shares the 80 Elemental Mastery two-piece bonus, but its four-piece effect is personal and depends on party members' elemental types after the wearer triggers a reaction. Instructor instead explicitly shares 120 Elemental Mastery with all party members for 8 seconds. Archaic Petra is a different support condition: it requires obtaining an Elemental Shard from Crystallize or triggering Lunar-Crystallize to grant an elemental damage bonus.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The party buff lasts 8 seconds and requires the wearer to trigger a reaction.
- Its four-piece effect boosts Elemental Mastery rather than directly granting elemental damage.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting another party member's reaction to activate the wearer's four-piece effect.
- Treating Gilded Dreams as the same party buff; its stated four-piece buffs apply to the wearer.
