Understand Marechaussee Hunter
Useful when…
- Normal and Charged Attack damage builds
- Wearers with regular HP increases or decreases
Bonuses and HP condition
Two pieces increase Normal and Charged Attack DMG by 15%. With four pieces, an increase or decrease in current HP grants 12% CRIT Rate for 5 seconds, up to three stacks. The full three-stack bonus is 36% CRIT Rate while the stacks are active.
Practical fit
The two-piece effect is a direct attack-type bonus. The four-piece CRIT Rate is conditional on current HP changing; simply wearing the set or losing HP once does not permanently grant all three stacks. Assess whether the character's play pattern can trigger and refresh HP changes during combat before relying on the maximum bonus.
Alternatives and tradeoffs
Nymph's Dream builds ATK and Hydro DMG stacks when attacks, Skills, and Bursts hit, so its bonuses depend on hit types and Hydro damage rather than HP changes. A Day Carved From Rising Winds gives ATK after a listed attack hits; its upgraded version additionally gives the wearer CRIT Rate if Witch's Homework is complete. These conditions differ from Marechaussee Hunter's HP-based trigger.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Four-piece CRIT Rate lasts 5 seconds per trigger and depends on current HP changes.
- The two-piece bonus covers Normal and Charged Attacks, not every damage type.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the three CRIT Rate stacks are active without three qualifying HP-change triggers.
- Applying the two-piece bonus to Skill or Burst damage.
