Understand Scarlet Proof
Useful when…
- A wearer who can trigger Stellar Swirl
- Stellar Swirl reaction damage with a timed CRIT Rate bonus
What activates the four-piece effect?
Two pieces grant 18% ATK. After the wearer triggers Stellar Swirl, four pieces increase their CRIT Rate by 16% and their Stellar Swirl reaction damage by 40% for 10 seconds. The stated trigger is the wearer triggering the reaction; the bonuses are not listed as unconditional.
How does it compare with related sets?
Obsidian Codex instead grants damage while the wearer is on-field in Nightsoul’s Blessing, then gives 40% CRIT Rate after they consume a Nightsoul point on-field. Flower of Paradise Lost targets Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, and Lunar-Bloom reaction damage, building further bonuses after those reactions. These sets have different state and reaction conditions; neither is a general substitute for Scarlet Proof’s Stellar Swirl trigger.
What limits its use?
The reaction-specific bonuses last 10 seconds after the wearer triggers Stellar Swirl. Heart of the Furnace also references a Stellar reaction, but its listed effect is tied to triggering or dealing Stellar Glimmer reaction damage and increases that reaction’s damage for nearby party members. Check which reaction the build actually uses rather than treating the similarly named effects as interchangeable.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its four-piece CRIT Rate and reaction damage require the wearer to trigger Stellar Swirl.
- The bonuses last 10 seconds, so their value depends on reaction timing.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the four-piece bonuses as always active without triggering Stellar Swirl.
- Confusing Stellar Swirl with Stellar Glimmer when comparing reaction-specific set effects.
