Understand Thundering Fury
Useful when…
- Increasing Electro damage with two pieces.
- Boosting named reactions and reducing Skill cooldown through reaction triggers with four pieces.
Which reactions benefit?
Two pieces grant 15% Electro DMG Bonus. Four pieces increase damage caused by Overloaded, Electro-Charged, Superconduct, and Hyperbloom by 40%; increase the damage bonus Aggravate confers by 20%; and increase Lunar-Charged and Stellar-Conduct damage by 20%. The wording distinguishes reaction damage from the damage bonus conferred by Aggravate.
How does the cooldown reduction trigger?
When the wearer triggers Quicken or one of the listed reactions, Elemental Skill cooldown decreases by 1 second. This can occur only once every 0.8 seconds. Consider the four-piece set when the wearer can trigger those reactions and has an Elemental Skill whose cooldown reduction is useful; the reaction damage increases apply only to the reaction types named in the effect.
How do other reaction sets differ?
Flower of Paradise Lost focuses on the wearer's Bloom, Hyperbloom, Lunar-Bloom, and Burgeon reaction damage, building additional bonuses when the wearer triggers those reactions. Gilded Dreams instead gives the wearer ATK or Elemental Mastery based on the party's Elemental Types after a reaction. Neither duplicates Thundering Fury's specific mix of Electro-related reaction effects and Skill cooldown reduction.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The cooldown reduction is limited to once every 0.8 seconds.
- The reaction bonuses apply to named reactions; they are not a general damage increase.
- The Aggravate clause increases the damage bonus conferred by Aggravate, not an explicitly stated flat reaction-damage amount.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the reaction clauses as a bonus to all damage.
- Reading the Aggravate clause as 20% reaction damage rather than an increase to its damage bonus.
- Expecting the Skill cooldown to decrease more than once every 0.8 seconds.
