Understand Unfinished Reverie
Useful when…
- Gaining ATK with two pieces.
- Using the four-piece damage bonus when combat begins and Burning opponents can maintain it.
How does the damage bonus change?
Two pieces grant 18% ATK. With four pieces, leaving combat for 3 seconds grants a 50% damage bonus. During combat, if no Burning opponents are nearby for more than 6 seconds, the bonus decreases by 10% per second until it reaches 0%. When a Burning opponent exists, it increases by 10% instead until it reaches 50%. The effect can trigger while the wearer is off-field.
When does it fit?
The set has a strong stated bonus after leaving combat, but its value during combat depends on Burning opponents being nearby: without them, the bonus eventually drains; with one, it builds toward 50%. Consider whether that condition is practical for the intended encounters and wearer. Flower of Paradise Lost focuses on the wearer's Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, and Lunar-Bloom reaction damage after the wearer triggers those reactions. Ocean-Hued Clam is instead tied to healing. Neither is a direct replacement for Reverie's Burning-dependent damage effect.
What can trigger off-field?
The set effect can trigger while the wearer is off-field. The provided effect does not state that a Burning opponent must be hit by the wearer; it says one must exist nearby for the bonus to increase. Keep that condition separate from the independent rule that the wearer can trigger the effect off-field.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The four-piece bonus can decline to 0% during combat without nearby Burning opponents.
- Its increase with Burning opponents is capped at 50%.
- The stated post-combat bonus requires leaving combat for 3 seconds.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the 50% bonus stays fixed when no Burning opponents are nearby during combat.
- Treating the damage bonus as permanent after leaving combat.
- Adding unspecified requirements, such as requiring the wearer to trigger Burning.
