Understand Vermillion Hereafter
Useful when…
- Increasing ATK with two pieces.
- Building the four-piece ATK effect after a Burst and HP loss.
How are the ATK increases gained?
Two pieces grant 18% ATK. With four pieces, using an Elemental Burst grants Nascent Light, increasing the wearer's ATK by 8% for 16 seconds. When the wearer's HP decreases, ATK increases by a further 10%; this further increase can occur at most four times, and the effect can trigger once every 0.8 seconds. The maximum described from those four additional increases is 40% ATK on top of the initial 8%.
What ends or replaces Nascent Light?
Nascent Light is dispelled when the wearer leaves the field. Using another Elemental Burst during its duration dispels the original Nascent Light. This makes the effect sensitive to staying on-field and to Burst timing; do not assume a new Burst simply refreshes the existing instance.
How do the alternatives differ?
A Day Carved From Rising Winds grants ATK after a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Skill, or Burst hits, and can additionally grant the wearer CRIT Rate after Witch's Homework. Vourukasha's Glow instead increases Skill and Burst damage and builds that bonus after the wearer takes damage. Both have different triggers and stat effects; neither should be treated as the same Burst-and-HP-decrease ATK mechanic.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The four-piece effect requires an Elemental Burst and further HP decreases to build its additional ATK.
- Leaving the field dispels Nascent Light.
- Using another Burst during the effect dispels the original instance.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming HP decreases can add more than four 10% increases.
- Switching the wearer off-field and expecting Nascent Light to remain.
- Expecting a second Burst to refresh the original effect.
