Understand Jean
Useful when…
- Restoring party HP with Dandelion Breeze and healing characters inside its field.
- Launching or pulling enemies with Gale Blade.
- Providing Anemo damage and field healing in a single burst.
What do her skill and burst do?
Gale Blade releases Anemo damage and launches opponents in the direction Jean aims. Holding it pulls nearby enemies and objects toward her front; she can adjust the direction, but remains immobile and spends 20 Stamina per second for up to five seconds. Dandelion Breeze deals Anemo damage, launches nearby opponents, and immediately heals all party members based on Jean’s ATK. Its Dandelion Field then continuously heals characters inside, imbues them with Anemo, and damages opponents entering or leaving. The burst has an 80 Energy cost and 20-second cooldown.
How does her healing scale and recur?
Both the burst’s immediate activation heal and its continuous regeneration use Jean’s ATK, with the field’s healing applied per second. Her normal attacks also have a 50% chance on hit to restore HP equal to 15% of her ATK for all party members. Using Dandelion Breeze returns 20% of its Energy through Let the Wind Lead. These effects make ATK relevant to her healing and give the burst a listed Energy return, while her normal-attack healing remains chance-based.
What should you invest in?
The burst is the direct priority if you rely on its immediate group heal and ongoing field healing. Gale Blade is more relevant if you use its damage and control. Her normal attacks are ordinary sword strikes, with the separate passive chance to heal the party on hit; they need not be treated as the center of her support kit. Ascension and talent tracks have separate costs, so concentrate on the functions you use rather than automatically leveling every attack source.
What limitations matter in play?
The held skill roots Jean in place and steadily drains Stamina, so use it with awareness of incoming threats and the time spent holding. The burst’s field healing applies to characters within its area; characters outside do not receive that continuous field healing. Her passive normal-attack healing has a 50% chance per hit, so it is not a guaranteed substitute for the burst’s immediate heal. The listed Anemo alternatives—Sayu, Sucrose, and Kaedehara Kazuha—have different weapons, but their comparison records do not establish equivalent healing or control effects.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The held skill trades enemy gathering time for Stamina and leaves Jean immobile.
- The field’s continuous healing is limited to characters inside its area.
- Her normal-attack party healing is probabilistic; the burst costs 80 Energy.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Holding Gale Blade without accounting for its Stamina drain and immobility.
- Assuming Dandelion Field continuously heals characters outside its area.
- Treating the normal-attack healing chance as guaranteed.
- Forgetting the burst’s 80 Energy cost when planning its use.
