Understand Mona
Useful when…
Apply Omen to increase damage taken by affected opponents for its duration.
Use Mirror Reflection of Doom to taunt nearby opponents and deal Hydro damage.
Use Hydro catalyst attacks, including an area Charged Attack.
Use her crafting passive for a chance to refund some Weapon Ascension Materials.
Illusory Bubble and Omen
Stellaris Phantasm applies Illusory Bubble in a large area and makes affected opponents Wet; weaker opponents are immobilized. When an opponent affected by the bubble sustains damage, Omen is applied, the bubble is removed, and its explosion deals Hydro damage. Omen increases damage taken for four seconds. The listed 42% damage bonus is a level-one value; the burst has a 15-second cooldown and costs 60 Energy.
Phantom and Hydro attacks
Mirror Reflection of Doom creates one Phantom at a time. It taunts nearby opponents and deals continuing Hydro damage. Holding the skill moves Mona backward before creating the Phantom. The skill-created Phantom’s duration and expiry behavior are unspecified here. Separately, after Mona has used Illusory Torrent for two seconds, her passive automatically creates a Phantom if opponents are nearby; this passive-created Phantom lasts two seconds and explodes for half the skill’s listed explosion damage. Mona’s catalyst Normal Attacks deal Hydro damage, and her Charged Attack deals area Hydro damage after a short casting time.
Talent tracks and crafting passive
The Burst track covers Stellaris Phantasm and is relevant when using its Omen effect. The Skill track covers the Phantom, and the Normal Attack track covers Mona’s catalyst attacks. Her Waterborne Destiny passive increases Hydro DMG Bonus by an amount equivalent to 20% of her Energy Recharge rate. When crafting Weapon Ascension Materials, Principium of Astrology gives a 25% chance to refund a portion of the materials used; the amount is unspecified.
Limitations and tradeoffs
Omen lasts four seconds, so its damage amplification is temporary.
The burst costs 60 Energy.
The skill-created Phantom’s duration is not specified; the passive-created Phantom has a stated two-second duration.
Common mistakes to avoid
Treating Omen as permanent rather than a four-second effect.
Assuming all opponents affected by Illusory Bubble are immobilized.
Assuming the skill-created Phantom has the passive-created Phantom’s two-second duration.
