Yelan’s Elemental Burst creates coordinated Hydro attacks when the active character uses Normal Attacks, letting her contribute damage while another character is on field. Her skill adds HP-scaling damage and fast movement, and her burst gradually increases the active character’s damage while it remains active.

Yelan GUIDE
Understand Yelan
Useful when…
Adding off-field Hydro damage triggered by an active character’s Normal Attacks.
Applying Hydro and dealing HP-scaling damage with her skill.
Using Hold skill for fast movement and opponent marking.
Gaining 25% more rewards when dispatched on a Liyue Expedition for 20 hours.
Burst triggers
Depth-Clarion Dice deals AoE Hydro damage and creates an Exquisite Throw for 15 seconds. It can attack once each second when the active character uses a Normal Attack, and also attacks each time Yelan’s Lifeline explodes and hits opponents. The attack damage scales with Yelan’s Max HP. Her burst costs 70 Energy and has an 18-second cooldown.
Skill and Breakthrough
Lingering Lifeline lets Yelan move quickly and mark opponents; when it ends, it deals Hydro damage based on her Max HP. Hold allows up to three seconds of controlled movement with increased interruption resistance. Each marked opponent hit by the skill’s explosion gives a 34% chance to reset Breakthrough. After five seconds out of combat, her next Charged Aimed Shot charges 80% faster and fires an AoE Breakthrough Barb whose damage scales with Max HP.
Talent focus and passives
Prioritize the burst when you rely on its recurring coordinated attacks; raise the skill when its HP-scaling hit and movement utility matter. Normal Attack talent investment is less central to the off-field pattern, though Breakthrough Barb is part of that track’s attack description. While Exquisite Throw is active, her passive increases the active character’s damage, starting at 1% and gaining 3.5% each second up to 50%; recasting the burst dispels the existing effect. Her Max HP also increases based on the number of distinct Elemental Types in the party.
Practical limits
Regular Exquisite Throw attacks depend on the active character using Normal Attacks. Recasting the burst removes its existing damage-increase effect. Breakthrough requires five seconds out of combat before the next Charged Aimed Shot gains its reduced charge time. Sigewinne, Tartaglia, and Mualani share Hydro with Yelan, but that alone does not show that their mechanics replace her coordinated attacks.
Limitations and tradeoffs
Her recurring burst attacks depend on the active character using Normal Attacks.
The burst costs 70 Energy; recasting it dispels its existing ramping damage bonus.
Common mistakes to avoid
Expecting regular Exquisite Throw attacks without active-character Normal Attacks.
Recasting the burst before its damage bonus has served its purpose.
Expecting Breakthrough without the stated out-of-combat period.
Effects and reference details
Stealthy Bowshot · Normal attack
Normal Attack Performs up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.
Charged Attack Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG. While aiming, flowing water will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged torrential arrow will deal Hydro DMG.
Breakthrough Yelan will enter a "Breakthrough" state after spending 5s out of combat, which will cause her next Charged Aimed Shot to have 80% decreased charge time, and once charged, she can fire a "Breakthrough Barb" that will deal AoE Hydro DMG based on Yelan's Max HP.
Plunging Attack Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Lingering Lifeline · Elemental skill
Fires off a Lifeline that allows her to move rapidly, entangling and marking opponents along its path. When this rapid movement ends, the Lifeline will explode, dealing Hydro DMG to the marked opponents based on Yelan's Max HP.
Tap Moves a certain distance forward swiftly.
Hold Engages in continuous, swift movement, during which Yelan's resistance to interruption is increased. During this time, Yelan can control this rapid movement and end it by using this Skill again.
Additionally, each opponent marked by the Lifeline when it explodes grants Yelan a 34% chance to reset her Breakthrough state.
