A Grounded Ascent

Harmony Light Cone for ally-targeted damage stacks, Energy, and periodic Skill Point recovery

Introduced in v2.7

A Grounded Ascent gives the wearer Energy and buffs the ally targeted by their Skill or Ultimate. After every two such ally-targeted uses, it restores a Skill Point. Consider it for a Harmony wearer who regularly targets one ally with these abilities and can build the ally’s Hymn stacks.

Understand A Grounded Ascent

Useful when…

  • A Harmony wearer who uses Skill or Ultimate on one ally character.
  • A team that can use recurring Skill Point recovery and a focused ally damage buff.

How do Hymn stacks and Energy work?

At S1, after the wearer uses Skill or Ultimate on one ally, the wearer regenerates 6 Energy and that ability’s target gains one Hymn stack for 3 turns. Each stack increases its holder’s damage dealt by 15%, up to 3 stacks. After every 2 instances of using Skill or Ultimate on one ally, the wearer recovers 1 Skill Point. At S5, the Energy remains 6 per qualifying use, Hymn gives 24% damage per stack, and the stack limit and durations remain the same.

What does it reward in practice?

The buff follows the one ally targeted by the wearer’s Skill or Ultimate, so it favors repeated targeting of the damage dealer who should receive Hymn. The Skill Point recovery also counts uses on one ally and occurs after every two instances. But the Battle Isn’t Over instead offers Energy Regeneration Rate, a Skill Point after an Ultimate used on an ally subject to its two-Ultimate cadence, and a brief next-ally damage bonus after Skill. Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds applies one of three random teamwide buffs at battle start and the wearer’s turn start; Chorus gives a team ATK increase after entering battle. Those alternatives have different targeting and timing conditions.

How should copies be used?

Promotion advances the Light Cone through six stages. Superimposition consumes one S1 copy at each step and increases the damage bonus per Hymn stack; the Energy, turn duration, stack limit, and two-use Skill Point condition shown here do not change. Consider promotion for level progression. Extra copies are most relevant when a wearer repeatedly targets a key ally and the stronger damage stacks matter.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Hymn goes to the one ally targeted by the wearer’s Skill or Ultimate.
  • The Skill Point is recovered after every two qualifying uses.
  • Superimposition raises the per-stack damage bonus but not its duration or stack limit.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming Hymn buffs all allies; it is granted to the targeted ally.
  • Expecting a Skill Point after every qualifying ability use; recovery occurs after every two instances.
